Tailored Blind Designs

The Problem

Form Over Function?

A residential homeowner approached us with a beautiful but architecturally challenging, odd-shaped window. Standard off-the-shelf window treatments were completely incompatible with the unique angles. The client was struggling to find a solution that would look seamless, preserve the window’s unique aesthetic, and still allow them to control light and ventilation effectively.

The Vision: Tailored, Not Compromised
Our goal was to design a bespoke window treatment that complemented the room’s architecture while delivering maximum functionality. The solution required a hybrid approach: permanent coverage for the complex outer angles, combined with easy physical access to the window glass for daily operation.

The Solution

A Hybrid Shaped Shutter System

We designed and engineered a fully custom, multi-section shutter system:

  • Fixed-Panel Corners: For the sharp, odd-shaped corners, we installed fixed panels. The slats in these sections remain fully operational, allowing the client to precisely tilt them to let natural light flow deep into the room.
  • Operational Mid-Section Doors: In the centre of the window, we installed fully functional shutter doors. These can be swung open completely, granting the homeowner effortless access to the window latches to let fresh air and maximum daylight into the space.

The Results

Seamless Harmony

The final installation turned an awkward design dilemma into a stunning architectural feature. The client received a custom, flush-fitting shutter system that preserves the room’s unique character. They now enjoy complete control over their privacy and airflow without sacrificing the beauty of their custom window.
